The EPB switch is a button in the control centre on the central screen. Tap the EPB button – the red parking brake indicator on the cluster stays on.Super Hybrid (SHS-P) only

The parking brake also applies itself automatically when the car is switched off or when you select P.

Releasing automatically

Fasten your seat belt and close the driver's door first. Then:

  • On level ground, shifting from P to D or R releases the parking brake automatically.
  • On level ground with D or R selected, pressing the accelerator also releases it (petrol models).
  • On a slope, with D or R selected, press the accelerator firmly – it releases once the driving force is greater than the force pulling the car downhill.

Note:Before the car is towed, release the parking brake and put the transmission in N.

Caution:If the yellow EPB fault indicator stays on, drive slowly to an authorised Jaecoo service centre as soon as possible.

EPB malfunction (yellow)

Caution:Automatic release only works with the driver's seat belt fastened and the driver's door closed.

Caution:A "whooshing" sound from the rear when applying or releasing is normal. The brake pedal may also move slightly – just keep pressing firmly.

Caution:If the car starts to creep shortly after stopping, the system adds more clamping force automatically, with an operating noise. This is normal.

Caution:The parking brake (and AUTO HOLD) can't be released if the 12 V battery is flat. Jump-start the car first.

Caution:If the parking brake won't release with the brake pedal pressed, you can press the accelerator and the parking brake switch together to release it. Only do this when the normal method fails, take care, and have the car checked by an authorised Jaecoo service centre as soon as possible.Petrol only
